Google Tag Manager Setup –
Done Right, From the Start

🏷️ GTM 🔒 GDPR ✅ Consent Mode v2

A messy GTM container costs you data — and trust

Most GTM setups I encounter are built on trial and error: tags without triggers, duplicate GA4 configs, no consent checks. The result is unreliable data — and potential GDPR violations. I set up Google Tag Manager cleanly, with a logical container structure, proper Consent Mode v2 integration, and verified event tracking.

💡 What makes a GTM setup "professional"? A clean folder structure, naming conventions, consent-gated tags, and a documented measurement plan — not just firing a GA4 tag and calling it done.

What I deliver

Clean container architecture Folders for GA4, Ads, and conversion tags. Consistent naming conventions. Every tag has a comment describing what it does and why.
Consent Mode v2 integrated Correct head sequence: Consent Default → CMP script → GTM. Every tag has an appropriate consent check. GDPR-compliant from the start.
GA4 event tracking Custom events for your business goals: form submissions, button clicks, scroll depth, file downloads — tracked accurately via the dataLayer.
QA & validation Every tag verified in GTM Preview mode and GA4 DebugView before going live. No surprises in production.
Documentation You receive a measurement plan documenting every tag, trigger, and variable — so you (or a future developer) always know what's happening.

My process

  1. Audit existing setup I review your current container (or set up a new one) and document what is working, what is broken, and what is missing.
  2. Define measurement plan Together we clarify your business goals and translate them into trackable events — before touching a single tag.
  3. Build & configure Clean container structure, Consent Mode v2, all required tags and triggers set up according to the measurement plan.
  4. Test & validate Full QA in Preview mode and DebugView. I only publish once everything fires correctly and consent is respected.
  5. Handover & documentation You receive the measurement plan, access to the container, and a short walkthrough so you understand what has been built.
